Speaking on Daybreak Hitz with KMJ, the ‘Princess Tyra’ actress said many industry players are envious of each other and only hope to see the downfall of their colleagues than their successes.
She said other key stakeholders in movie industry are also not supportive of the efforts by Ghanaian actors and producers.
“You would never see a blogger celebrating any actor. They are always bashing us and I also realize that sometimes you premiere your movie, the first thing that people want to know how many cinemas halls did she fill, but why would you be concerned about that?” She quizzed.
“We are actually envious of each other,” she says.
The Public Relations Officer for the Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG) Ola Michaels does not agree with Yvonne Nelson.
According to Ola Michaels, Yvonne Nelson’s claims are “myopic and girlish”.
“There is room for anybody in the industry to do whatever he or she thinks is good to produce the best movies that can sell our country, we don’t impede anybody in doing so,” he said.
“I think she has lost touch with time and the realities because there is coercion in the system, when you are not part of the system, you would sit somewhere and think that there is no unity,” he added.
