It was a norm to see students rush for shuttles at the University of Ghana in a bid to make to the very first lectures of the day. It was a situation always seen especially at the Kwapong Bus stop. The University of Ghana in conjunction with the Road Safety and Transport Consultancy (RSTC) Limited has under a Public Private Partnership purchased 10 buses which would run shuttle service in the campus.
The Vice Chancellor in his speech at the inaugural ceremony stated that the University would ensure the buses are well maintained. He added that more bus shelters around the Campus would be constructed to enable commuters board and alight at designated places to their various destinations. He admonished the commuters to avoid insisting on alighting and boarding at unauthorized places.
The Shuttle services which charge 50 pesewas have allowed other shuttle services run by halls in the University to reduce their shuttle prices from 70 pesewas to 50 pesewas. A reduction to the pleasure of the students in the Institution.
