President John Dramani Mahama has been touring various regions of the country in what has been described as ‘Accounting to the People.’
He has been interacting with chiefs and people, inspecting ongoing projects, cutting sod for new projects and commissioning completed projects for various communities.
Although the government has explained that the ‘Accounting to the People’ tour is not meant for political campaign, the President, nonetheless, is using it to establish the fact that his government has done enough to deserve a second four-year term.
He has been touting his achievements in infrastructure projects and other initiatives, backing his claim with evidence.
Some people have raised issues accusing the President of “abusing” incumbency to campaign.
Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom from the Progressive Peoples Party in a Facebook post has raised issues with the President’s tour. Read Dr Nduom’s concerns below.
