There was drama at the Accra District Court Wednesday when Vincent Bosso, accused of abeting the murder of the former Member of Parliament for Abuakwa-North, Mr Joseph Boakye-Danquah Adu, was accused by the police of stealing GhȻ20 at where he was being kept in custody.
Bosso, who has been charged with abetment, was confronted by the police for stealing the money.
The police accused him of taking the money, which was kept at the counter of the police station he was being kept, when he was being brought to court.
The police after a search on the accused person found the money wrapped in a white paper in his pocket.
The money belonged to one of the police men who transported him to the court.
Apparently the police man was said to have left the money on the counter as he was ushering Bosso to be transported to the court.
The search took place in the courtroom before the case was called.
When the case was called, the state withdrew the original charges in the case and subsequently filed fresh charges.
Asiedu has been charged with murder while Bosso has been charged with abetment.
They were both remanded by the court into police custody. The case has been adjourned to June 2, 2016.
