President John Dramani Mahama has dedicated his Doctor of Laws degree from the University of Aberdeen to the people of Ghana.
President Mahama received the honorary degree on Friday, March 18 in front of the Vice Chancellor, faculty members and students of the over six centuries-old university.
Speaking at the Special Graduation Ceremony, Ghana’s leader expressed appreciation “for this recognition and honour done me”.
“I consider this an honour for all Ghanaians and it is a reflection of the strides we have made as a people, both internationally and at home.
“I therefore dedicate this Doctor of Laws honorary degree to the people of Ghana.”
The president considered the degree as a fulfillment of his childhood dream to be a lawyer.
“I stand here in fulfillment of destiny with my initial desire in hand, a law degree in the form of an honorary Doctorate of Laws from- as prestigious an institution as one can find – Aberdeen University.”
