Police arrest killer of Vodafone Marketing Officer

10304920.295The Police in Accra have arrested an 18-year-old man for his alleged involvement in a robbery incident that led to the death of a marketing officer of Vodafone Ghana.

The suspect, Abdul Razak Ibrahim, a resident of Ashaiman, a suburb of Tema was part of a gang that robbed and killed the deceased, Mr Ebo Panford-Quainoo, 30, leaving his wife of four-months traumatised.

Another suspect, however, is on the run.

The Accra Regional Police Commander, COP Dr George Akuffo-Dampare, at a press briefing said the police made the arrest following a tip from some of the robbery items which were sold.

Five individuals who were involved in the sale of the items were initially arrested, leading to the arrest of Ibrahim.

According to COP Akuffo-Dampare, the police have sufficient information on the other accomplice.

“We will put all our resources at work to get him arrested,” he assured.

On November 11, at about 1:30 a.m. two unidentified armed robbers, said to be wielding pump-action gun, shot dead a marketing officer of Vodafone Ghana, Mr Ebo Panford-Quainoo at his residence at Sakumono.

According to the deceased’s wife, she and her husband had returned home from work and decided to pray in the hall before retiring to bed.

After the prayer, the wife said she slept in the hall “but at dawn she heard a loud noise from their bedroom, prompting her to rush there only to find her husband in a pool of blood.”

The deceased, according to the police, was hit by a bullet while the robbers fired indiscriminately into the windows of his bedroom.

According to the police, the robbers managed to take an amount of GH¢150 from the deceased’s wife, mobile phones, lap tops and other electronic gadgets.
