Parliament has ratified the treaty to the Second Millennium Challenge Compact between the United States of America, acting through the Millennium Challenge Corporation and the Government of Ghana operating through the Millennium Development Authority, MIDA for a grant amount of Four Hundred and Ninety-Eight Million Two Hundred Thousand US Dollars.
Ghana is expected to contribute a counterpart funding of 37-point-three million Dollars.
The second Compact will be used to execute six key projects including the Electricity Company of Ghana Financial and Operational turnaround project.
Presenting the report of the Finance Committee for the ratification of the treaty the Chairman of the Committee James Avedzi said the program with ECG is not privatization of the Company.
