Members of the Ghana Nurse Midwife Trainees’ Association will demonstrate today, 22 September, in the national capital to demand payment of some allowances due them.
The group says the demonstration has become their last resort to pile pressure on the government to accede to their demands.
It describes its concerns as issues that need urgent attention.
Leaders of the group claim they have on several occasions held back the demonstration unilaterally without the support of their members but they now have no choice than to pour out onto the streets to push their case.
Ghana goes to the polls on December 7. Many labour groups and associations take advantage of the electioneering to push the government to accede to their demands
