The North Kaneshie District of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana has launched its 60th Anniversary celebration in Accra.
The church will be 60 years in September 2017. The theme for the anniversary is “Celebration, Inspiration and Transformation.” Addressing the congregation on Sunday, vice chairperson for the 60th anniversary committee Ms. Doreen Dako- Gyeke charged the congregation to rejoice as the church approach its 60th birthday.
“As a family we need to come together to celebrate our successes. 60 years is such a long time in the life of a person let alone a group of people and congregation and hence it worth celebrating” “We must also take this opportunity to sacrifice ourselves and with the help of God we know we can do more for humanity, our society, our church and our nation as a whole. We again need to take up the mantle to transform our generation”.
She outlined activities the church with embark on in preparation for the 60th anniversary “in celebrating this milestone we have outline some activities from 30th July to September 2017.
There will be a home coming festival, anniversary lectures, health walk, revival and outdoor crusade, donation to an orphanage, excursion for J Y and children service and many more”. Ms. Dako- Gyeke called for a collective effort to make the anniversary a successful one, “lets us build the momentum to represent our celebration.
As a people of God after receiving various promises and seeing most of them materialize in our lives we want to put up a momentum in recognition of the goodness of our God.
In commemoration of our 60 years in existence we are putting up an ultramodern, multipurpose facility which has modern rest rooms, cafeteria, book shop, meeting room for use by the congregation”
