Ghana may have faced and is still facing several difficulties, but President John Dramani Mahama has singled out the energy crisis as one of his greatest challenges.
Speaking in an interview on TV3 Monday, the president indicated that the energy crisis popularly known as ‘Dumsor’, that blighted the country for over three years was not an easy issue to deal with as a president.
“I will say that the most challenging issue for me as a president that I have to deal with is the power crisis.
“I saw myself engaging the power ministry a couple of times more than other ministries because it wasn’t easy to overcome that challenge” he stated.
Power minister Dr. Kwabena Donkor resigned on January 1, 2016 after failing to fix the crisis as promised upon his assumption of office.
President Mahama believes his government is on the verge of providing a permanent solution to the crisis.
