The Mushroom industry is facing a myriad of challenges which is hampering the growth of the sector.

The challenges which include poor infrastructure, limited input availability, lack of funds and technical know-how is slowing down the pace of harvesting and processing thereby shifting the attention of farmers into other ventures.

In a bid to improve on the situation, an NGO, ACDI/VOCA in collaboration with Mushroom for well-being foundation is offering free support to mushroom farmers in the country.

The support is 80 percent training based, with farmers receiving practical training from experts on best practices and value addition.

First to benefit from the initiative is a section of mushroom farmers based in the Brong Ahafo region.
