Additionally, it has set aside GH¢50,000.00 to support 114 students in this academic year, Barima Oppong Kyeremeh-Sikafo, the Akwamuhene and Chairman of the fund has said.
He was speaking at the end of year party the Dormaa Traditional Council organized for the chiefsand people of the traditional in Dormaa-Ahenkro in the Brong Ahafo Region.The fund was established by the Dormaa Traditional Council in 2000 under the instrumentality of Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang-BaduII to support brilliant and needy students to pursue higher education.
Barima Kyeremeh-Sikafo said many needy students in the area have applied for the scholarship package.
He appealed to the residents especially those abroad to contribute to the fund.
He observed that the establishment of the fund has challenged many students in the area to study hard to pursue higher education.
Osagyefo Agyemang-Badu commended administrators of the fund for its management and asked them to avoid favouritism and ensure that it benefits qualified students.
He appreciated the improved performance of students in the area and charged them to concentrate on their books to achieve high academic laurels.
