Medeama qualify to CAF Confederation Cup next round with a 2-0 win over Al Shendi

Medeama Sporting Club put up an impressive performance to beat Sudanese side Al Shendi by 2-0 to secure qualification to the CAF Confederation Cup play-offs on Wednesday.

A spectacular strike from dribbling wizard Kwame Boahene put the home side in driving seat before striker Abass Mohammed completed the win with a fabulous free-kick in the first half.

This sends the Tarkwa lads to the play-offs of the continent’s second-rate inter-club competition.

Medeama will know their opponents for the CAF Confederation Cup final qualifying draw on Thursday.

The winners of the 1/8th round of the Orange CAF Confederation Cup will be pitted against the losing clubs of the 1/8th round of the Orange CAF Champions League, to determine the eight clubs for the group phase.
