The lively ceremony was at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra. It was a star-studded ceremony with an attendance pegged at about 250 guests.
The wedding is in fulfilment of a promise made by TV host Stacy Amoateng on her show,Restoration. Last March, Stacy while hosting Majid on her show, promised an all-expenses paid wedding.
The couple have been married for the past 10 years.
“This is what we’re going to do, you’ve done so well, you’ve been with your wife for so long, you guys have been there for each other so we are giving you a treat. And with this treat, all you need to do is to provide us a date… And you and Virna can say I do again,” said Stacy.
Stacy noted that the couple were enthusiatic guests at many weddings. It was time to give them the opportunity to having their own wedding.
Stacy explained that the ceremony was to disperse the perception that celebrities have short-lived marriages and affairs.
“We need to encourage each other because for most people celebrities don’t have a lasting marriages, it crashes along the line….”
Majid and Virna have two daughters, Zara and Kiera Michel.
Former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah, award-winning Adjetey Annan and his wife, award-winning director Shirley Frimpong Manso and her partner Ken Attoh were there to support their friend.
