Teaching and learning at the Kusiyiga Primary School at Janga, in the West Mamprusi District of the Northern Region, has become difficult for teachers and pupils at the community.

Four out of the six classroom blocks were ripped off by a rain storm last year, forcing the pupils to sit under a tree after nine in the morning when it becomes sunny.

A teacher who spoke to Radio Ghana on condition of anonymity, said effective teaching and learning ends after nine in the morning as pupils are moved under the tree to avoid the scorching sun.

He expressed worry that, things could get worse during the rainy season and appealed to the district assembly and benevolent organizations to go to their aid.

When Radio Ghana contacted the assemblyman for the area, Ben Yakubu Issah, he said the issue has been brought to the attention of the West Mamprusi District Assembly, adding that, he has been given the assurance that it will be work on.

He was worried that it has delayed, fearing the effect of teaching and learning in the area.

He is therefore appealing to government to expedite action on the repairs.
