The Council of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has appointed Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso as the new Vice Chancellor of the University, for a four (4) year term effective August 1 2016, to July 21, 2020.
The University’s Council in a press statement released on Thursday May 19 said the decision was taken at the Council’s 238th Special Meeting held today, May 19, 2016.
Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso holds a Bachelor’s Degree in (Biological Sciences) and an MPhil (Food Microbiology) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), and a PHD – Environmental Microbiology) from Lancaster University, United Kingdom.
A statement signed by the acting Registrar of KNUST, Ben Andoh, noted that Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso is currently the Provost of the College of Science at the KNUST.
Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso will be replacing the outgoing VC, Professor William Otoo Ellis, who was also appointed in May 2010.
