The Electoral Commission will today [Friday] hold an emergency Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) Meeting at its headquarters.
The meeting will principally discuss matters arising out of the composition of the National Election steering committee put together for the November polls.
The Electoral Commission has been under intense pressure from opposition groups to dissolve the newly inaugurated 18-member Election Steering Committee after three members were accused of being card-bearing members of the governing NDC.The EC however insists it will not dissolve the committee on the basis that a few are allegedly biased politically.
The meeting is expected to reach a consensus on the matter ahead of the November general elections.
They claimed that they have reasons to believe that Dr. Karl Marx Arhin of the National Service Secretariat (NSS), who has been withdrawn, Joseph Whittal of CHRAJ and Francis Azumah of the National Peace Council have NDC affiliations and should be removed from the committee.
