The training which has drawn selected journalists and media practitioners from the southern zone of the country including Western, Greater Accra, Central and Volta regions is being organized by an NGO, the Legal Resources Centre and sponsored by the British High Commission.
A facilitator and the Eastern Regional Executive Director of the National Peace Council, Peter Agbozo, cautioned journalists against over-dependence on social media for their news reportage because most of them are not trained journalists and yet the public perception includes them as colleague journalists and castigate all for the mistakes of these social media operators.
The General Coordinator of the Communication for Development and Advocacy Consult, Francis Ameyibor, cautioned journalists to refrain from allowing their personal opinion or preferences to sway them in their reportage.
He urged journalists to promote and disseminate truthful, unbiased political and electoral news to feed the general public.
