Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan on Wednesday March 23 walked out of training early with fears of picking an injury.
The Shanghai SIPG striker held onto his leg and walked off the pitch into the dressing room in Ghana’s final training session ahead of their 2017 Nations Cup qualifier against Mozambique at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday March 24.
Spokesperson of the Ghana Football Association Ibrahim Saani Daara confirmed to Class Sports that Gyan complained of some pains but was waiting for a report from the medical team.
“We just had him pulling out complaining of an injury of a sort. Our medical officer needs to assess what it is before a decision will be taken whether he needs further medical attention or not,” he said.
Gyan recently recovered from an injury sustained during an Asian Confederations Cup match for Shanghai SIPG to join his national team mates home in Accra for the game against Mozambique.
It is unclear whether he will be fit to play against Mozambique in the first leg or not.
Meanwhile Class Sports also picked up information that Jeffrey Schlupp complained of some pains to coach Avram Grant.
The Leicester City defender also recently recovered from a hamstring injury that ruled him out of active football for six weeks.
