Ghana’s Para-Powerlifter, Charles Teye Narh, has gained qualification to the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio, Brasil.
Teye Narh, is the first Ghanaian athlete to have qualified for the competition after taking part in the qualifiers in United Arab Emirates (UAE) last month.
His qualification was confirmed by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), early this week and this was further confirmed by the National Paralympic Committee (NPC).
Narh, who competed at the London 2012 Paralympic Games, will be making his second appearance at the Games.
Mr. Ignatius Elletey, told the GNA Sport that, they are looking forward to more qualifications in the coming months.
He added that, the NPC is targeting a maximum of six athletes to the competition.
