Renowned football analyst James Oyedeji is reported dead following a short illness.
The sad incident occurred on Monday 4th April, 2016 at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.
The 63-year-old former administrator for Mighty Jets suffered a heart failure in 2015 but was able to pull through after receiving treatment at the same hospital but gave up the ghost after a recent ailment.
The cause of his death is not yet known but many football fanatics will remember him for his enviable historical knowledge of African football.
He is quoted to have said in an interview on PM Express’ Personality Profile, when asked what the reason was for his huge interest in football, that, “I cannot answer that. It is a gift. I have that third eye.”
With an MSc. Economics degree, James Oyedeji indicated in previous interviews that he was “born literally in a park and the first person I saw was the then goalkeeper of the Black Stars, Abdul Kasumu. I also worked in sports as a child with my mother making sales from spectators who watched matches and practice sessions”.
