The Lord who began the year 2015 with members of the Restoration Temple of the Osu ICGC ended it with them in an amazing fashion and on the night when they said good bye to 2015 and ushered in 2016 came many great testimonies.
Marriages had been consummated in six months; mansions and strongholds were taken over; wombs that were closed opened to new births; men were redeemed from near fatal accidents; women were healed from strange diseases; others who lived but searched for answers amongst the dead for a year, all came through with songs of praise and thanksgiving to God for an amazing year despite the challenges.
It was an amazing night of prayers and an incredibly exhilarating moments when the music by the Restoration Choir, Frankincense, Gwendy Sackey, swept through the all white congregation, and left the faithful dancing, waving handkerchiefs to show gratitude to God for his endless favour throughout the year.
The Inspired Heavens were brief, yet sleek in their end of year choreography which received a thunderous round of applause.
And when 2016 beckoned, the congregation welcomed it with a Jericho shout of praise, more music, more dance.
They had been led in several minutes of prayers by the Head Pastor Ashford Tawiah Smith who broke the yokes of the fowler and prepared the hearts and minds of the congregants for what will be another challenging year.
Like David who was pursued not only by lions, bears, Saul, Philistines but by his own son Absalom, Rev Smith said 2016 shall come with the machinations of the wicked against the faithful but the assurance is that God will deliver them from the snare of the fowler.
In his imposing frame, glittering in his all white attire, Rev Smith charged the congregation to enquire from the Lord in 2016, as David did several decades ago, in every step they take in the New Year.
“And David enquired of the Lord, saying shall i go up against the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hand? And the Lord said to David ‘Go up for i will doubtless deliver the Philistines into your hand,” he quoted the scriptures in 2nd Samuel 5:19 as saying.
“In 2016 don’t joke with the stronghold which is the presence of God,” he added.
With election beckoning, the man of God challenged the faithful to seek the face of God in selecting a leader in the November elections.
Declaring the year 2016 as the year of Influence, Rev Smith said it is time for the Christian to influence the society in every significant way.
“What do you influence society with if you have nothing?” he asked, challenging the Christian to take initiatves but seek the counsel of God at all times.
Even in the midst of turbulence, the Lord shall cause his men to rise above their expectations, he indicated.
He said if only Christians will rely on the insurance from heaven and not the national health insurance scheme, God will heal every infirmity in the finances of the believers, marriages, businesses.
The night was also an opportunity to dine with the Lord as congregation took their first communion for the year 2016.
