Making the announcement on both his Facebook and Twitter pages on Tuesday, Blakk Rasta, known in real life as Abubakar Ahmed explained that he no longer has inspiration to continue staying at the station.
His post read: “Just resigned from Hitz FM after 8 years in action. Not being inspired anymore…”
Blakk Rasta thanked his listeners and fans for their support througought his eight-year stay at Hitz Fm.
“Thanks for the love and energy. Will give you details soon. To Jah be the glory….#Kuchoko.”
Blakk Rasta, who doubles as a reggae musician hosted the Taxi Driver show on Hitz FM for the past 8 years. He is known for making controversial statements.
Two weeks ago, he was dragged before the Privileges Committee of Parliament for claiming that about 80 percent of Members of Parliament (MPs) smoke marijuana.
He subsequently apologized and retracted his statement.
