Akua Donkor to offer 50,000 acres of land to Prison Service

Maverick politician Akua Donkor says she is ready to offer some acres of land for the construction of prison cells in order to ease congestion in the prisons.

The prison service made this known after a fire outbreak which caused a mutiny in the Kumasi prisons which left one person dead and several officers injured.

Speaking in an interview with Adom TV News, Akua Donkor revealed that she owns a parcel of land in Mamponteng and Aboaso in the Ashanti region which she will be willing to give it out for the prison.

“I remember disclosing it to them but they refused to listen to me and so if Kumasi prisons had listened to me earlier, the inmates wouldn’t have attempted to escape” she stated.

The Ghana Freedom Party Flag bearer says she is willing to give out over fifty thousand acres of land freely to Ghana Prisons Service to put up a standard prison.

“If they need over fifty thousand I will give them because I have a larger land that can accommodate a bigger prison building, an orphanage home and bungalow for Ghana National Fire Service personnel there.

She continued that “I am going to write a letter to Parliament and copy Attorney General and other high profile personalities of the country to disclose to them that the land between Mamponteng and Aboaso on which Public Works Department (PWD) is occupying is for the state,” she stated.
