This was a follow up to the one organized in 2013 as part of activities marking the school’s Golden Jubilee Anniversary celebration.
The event was to have been used to conduct a follow up on the patients that were seen during the earlier visit and treated against basic illnesses and diseases such as: eye, piles, malaria, fever, general body weakness, and pregnancy disorders among others which affect social productivity.
According to Mr Riverson Dunyo, President of the AISOSA , the humanitarian service, was to ensure quality health care delivery for residents here; particularly the aged and the vulnerable who could not easily have access to
The medical team, all members of the association; including doctors, nurses and pharmacists was to have attended to the over 400 patients who came from Adjena and its adjoining communities such as; Adumasa, Pesseh, Gyakiti and Kudikope.
The President Riverson Dunyo, said a total amount of about GH₵8,000 was estimated for the event with sponsorship from J. M. Addo and Sons, Kinapharma, G. R. Industries and PZ Ghana all pharmaceutical companies including contributions from members of the association.
He expressed gratitude to the donors and the Corporate Communications Office of the Volta River Authority (VRA) for supporting the event.
The 1985 year group of AISOSA, who were celebrating their 30 anniversary, presented pens, pencils and exercise books to all the children of the community.
It was their hope that through this donation the children would be encouraged and motivated to take their studies seriously so as to benefit from the quality education being offered by the VRA schools of which they were beneficiaries.
Unlike the previous visit however , the chieftancy dispute in the town led by two factions in the community, was evident at play.
The effect was that both factions craved the attention and indulgence of the team. Tension were high as both sides sought to appropriate the initiative as theirs.
To forestall and mishap, the team, seprately addresed both factions and split the medical and educational items into two. A presentation was made to each side with the admonition that the items so donated be handed over tho the CHPS compound for the benefit of the entire township.
The team appealed to the community to exercise restrain and coexistence to let lasting peace prevail to promote development and stability.
