Agyemang-Badu happy with start of GPL

Ghanaian international Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has expressed his delight at the commencement of the Ghana Premier League (GPL).

The league endured months of litigation before finally kicking off on February 20.

“At long last the battle has ended and the league has started and, so, I am very happy for my colleagues, the footballers, who have suffered a lot. Staying more than a year home, training without football, is always difficult. I heard the boys were improving little by little and I am very happy about that,” he told Class Sports.

The Italy-based player expressed confidence his former club, Asante Kotoko, will bounce back from their false start against WAFA and get results against Ashgold and Medeama.

“I am a fan of Asante Kotoko, so, I always monitoring the league. I know Asante Kotoko was down against WAFA, but we will bounce back against Medeama and Ashgold,” Badu said.

Agyemang-Badu scored in the Serie A on Sunday February 28 to power Udinese to a 2-0 home win against Hellas Verona.
