The 2014Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) started and ended successfully in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa District of Central region. In all there were six (6) examination centres under the jurisdiction of the Twifo Atti-Morkwa District Education Service headed by Madam Enyonam Afi Amefuga.
A total of One Thousand Four Hundred and Thirty-five (1,435) candidates registered for the examination. These were made of Six Hundred and Thirty Nine (639) females and Seven Hundred and Ninety Six (796) males.
Eight (7 females and 1 male) of the candidates were reported to have been absent. Upon enquiries journalists we were told that the absenteeism was due to sickness.
The Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Hon. Samuel Ato Amoah and District Director of Education visited all the Examination centres to acquaint themselves with the progress of the examination.
The MP advised them to take the examinations seriously since it marked the beginning of their journey in life. He said the examinations would determine where and what they would be in the future, adding that without success in the examinations they could not move to the next level.
